Legal battle intensifies as Trump’s lawyers fight to overturn sex abuse conviction

Donald Trump’s legal team is currently working to overturn a jury verdict that found him liable for sexually assaulting writer E. Jean Carroll. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled to hear arguments Friday, following a previous jury award of $5 million to Carroll.

The ruling is based on an alleged incident in a department store fitting room in 1996. Preparations are underway for Trump to appear in a federal court in Manhattan.

Trump’s defense argues that the jury’s decisions were based on improperly included and excluded evidence. Nevertheless, the civil case has had significant political and financial implications for the former president, with Vice President Kamala Harris using the verdict to publicly criticize him.
