Midland City man charged with rape of minor, police say

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — An Ozark man is behind bars and facing a high bond after police arrested him on rape and sodomy charges.

According to Ozark police, Joe Buck Newsome was arrested on September 1 and charged with one count of first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sodomy and one count of first-degree sodomy.

Ozark police did not release much information but said the victim was a young girl.

Newsome was booked into the Dale County Jail on $180,000 bail.
