One dead, one injured in shooting in the Netherlands

The Hague, September 5 (IANS): One person was killed and another injured on Thursday afternoon in a shooting in Vlissingen, a city in the southwestern Dutch province of Zeeland, police said.

“We are currently investigating a shooting on Visodeweg in Vlissingen,” the Zeeland police reported on the social media platform X.

The victims were found at around 1pm local time (11am GMT) on a road in Vlissingen, the Xinhua news agency reported.

Police have not yet released further details about a motive or the shooter. The area has been cordoned off with police tape.
