While the center of this system will remain south of central Alabama, it will bring clouds with scattered showers spreading north over the next 24 hours. Expect scattered showers throughout the day Thursday and more widespread rain Friday. The clouds will also help keep high temperatures Thursday in the low 80s.

NEXT BIG THING: There is a chance of some rain showers on Friday for the start of the high school football season, but the rain is not expected to end until late Friday evening.
