Largo Police Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run on Roosevelt Blvd

Largo, FL – On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at approximately 9:06 pm, the Largo Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit responded to a hit-and-run accident that resulted in a fatality. The incident occurred at 2650 Roosevelt Blvd., just east of US Highway 19.

A pedestrian was crossing Roosevelt Blvd when they were struck by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene immediately after the collision. Shortly after the initial crash, a second vehicle, a 2007 tan Toyota Highlander, traveling westbound on Roosevelt Blvd, also struck the pedestrian, who remained in the roadway. The driver of the Toyota stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No signs of impairment were observed in the driver.

The road was closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene.

At this time, there is limited information about the initial vehicle involved. The Largo Police Department is requesting assistance from the public for any witnesses to the incident (Case number 24-007873). Anyone with information is willing to contact the Largo Police Department at 727-587-6730.
