Police say a man has been accused of stealing three crossbows and pillowcases from Walmart last year

Nearly a year after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with an alleged shoplifting at Walmart, a Bucks County man has been charged with shoplifting and receiving stolen goods for stealing three crossbows and pillowcases.

Harry Sellinger, 56, of the 1700 block of Newport Road in Croydon, Bristol, was served with an arrest warrant on Aug. 30, 2023, by Hilltown Borough Police in connection with an alleged shoplifting incident that occurred on Aug. 19, 2023, at the Bethlehem Pike store, according to court documents.

Sellinger, who also faces charges of possessing an instrument of a crime and misdemeanor, was arraigned before District Judge Regina Armitage on Aug. 22, 2024, who set bail at 10 percent of the $25,000 cash amount that Sellinger has not yet posted and remains in the Montgomery County Jail.

According to charging documents, police were called to the Walmart store at 1515 Bethlehem Pike at 5:01 p.m. in reference to a retail theft that had occurred 20 minutes earlier.

Police said theft prevention officers provided them with photographic and video evidence.

According to police, Sellinger was caught loading a shopping cart with three crossbows and Better Homes & Gardens pillowcases worth a total of $1,180.

The accused then pushed the cart into the Garden Centre where, according to police, he cut the lock on the door and positioned the cart loaded with goods behind the crates.

Sellinger leaves the store, gets into a blue GMC SUV parked on the side of the store and drives toward a hidden shopping cart, according to the complaint. He then loads items into the trunk and flees the scene, police said.

A preliminary hearing will be held on October 1 at 1:00 p.m. before Armitage.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled from public court records.
