Bungo Stray Dogs Manga Shocks Everyone by Killing 3 Main Characters

In chapters 117 and 118 of the Bungo Stray Dogs series, several major characters die, leaving readers stunned.

One of the most underrated seinen mangas, Bungo Stray Dogs is a thrilling mix of supernatural action and mind games that is often criticized for not killing off its characters or bringing them back to life.

Despite the complaints, no one was prepared for so many major characters to die in just two chapters. In chapter 117 titled “Understood” we see Bram finally die, leaving Akutagawa to protect Aya.

But that’s not all. At the end of the chapter, Kunikida and Tanizaki come face to face with the mysterious Ame-no-Gozan as Atsushi rushes to stop them, but it’s too late. In a shocking scene, Kunikida is cruelly killed when Atsushi saves Tanizaki in time.

However, the bad times are far from over. In Bungo Stray Dogs Chapter 118, titled “Mystifying Being,” Tanizaki tries to avenge Kunikida but is killed in front of Atsushi. But things start to improve – at least for a while – when Kenji and Suehiro show up on the scene.

Kenji dies in Bungo Stray Dogs

This doesn’t last long though, as Kenji is cut into pieces to death while Atsushi watches in horror. Within two chapters, he loses three of his colleagues (who he considers family) from the Armed Detective Agency. Needless to say, he’s in despair.

But it’s not just Atsushi who is mourning the deaths of Kunikida, Tanizaki, and Kenji. Fans are equally shocked that the Bungo Stray Dogs manga killed off three main characters. As someone wrote on X, “None of us know what’s going on, but we know we’re all sobbing.”

“I’M CONVINCED ASAGIRI AND GEGE SWITCHED BECAUSE WHY THE HELL DOES JJK HAVE A HAPPY ENDING AND THEN EVERYONE DIES IN BSD?” commented another user, referring to Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami.

“He decided not to kill Chuuya and Dazai, but at what cost..?” added a third.

A fourth chimed in: “Nooo, my child! Asagiri, why are you doing this to them? Just look at their little faces. I want to die – I’m still reeling from Kunikida, and now you’re killing the shine of BSD.”

Bungo Stray Dogs finally seems to have avoided the “no kill” charges. Before the Armed Detective Agency members died in chapters 117 and 118, chapter 115 grislyly killed off Teruko. Now fans are left to wonder which character will die next.

While we are recovering from the shock of the new BSD chapter, let’s find out what happened in One Piece chapter 1125 and Oshi no Ko chapter 159. You can also check out the details of the upcoming ending of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and our opinion on the ending of My Hero Academia.
