Man found dead in van in Highland Park

LOS ANGELES – A man was found dead in a van in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department launched an investigation Wednesday into a death near the intersection of El Paso Drive and North Avenue 50. A body was found inside a 2007 Kia pickup truck.

Authorities have not released the name of the deceased, but neighbors say he was a handyman and is remembered as a person who was kind to others.

As of Wednesday evening, no arrests had been announced in connection with the man’s death. It is also unclear how he died.
