Las Vegas police investigate pedestrian, car crash at Centennial Hills Hospital | Las Vegas Local

A 29-year-old man lying in a private driveway of Centennial Hills Hospital was killed after being hit by an ambulance Wednesday morning.

According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred around 1:34 a.m. at 6900 North Durango Drive.

A 2023 Las Vegas Fire Department ambulance drove south on the north side of the property. As the ambulance turned into the ambulance bay at Centennial Hills Hospital, it struck a pedestrian.

An ambulance and Centennial Hills Hospital personnel arrived on scene and took the victim to the hospital for treatment. Despite all life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Police said a Las Vegas Fire Department ambulance and crew remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The pedestrian’s death marks the 102nd fatal traffic crash in the metro jurisdiction this year. The collision remains under investigation by the Collision Investigation Section.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and cause and manner of death.
