Nedoroscik was announcement as this season’s first competitor after his breakout performance at the Olympics. The gymnast who became known as the “Pommel Horse Guy” won an individual bronze medal and helped the U.S. men’s team win bronze for its first medal since 2008.

Howard will try his hand at dancing while continuing to play professional basketball. The 38-year-old most recently played for the Taiwan Mustangs in the Asian tournament earlier this summer.

An eight-time NBA All-Star, Howard won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019-20 season. He spent most of his career with the Orlando Magic, but has also played for the Lakers, Houston Rockets, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards.

Amendola played 13 seasons in the NFL from 2009 to 2021. He is best known for his five seasons with the New England Patriots, during which he helped the team win two titles in three Super Bowl appearances.

Maher had been a member of the U.S. rugby team since 2018. She helped the Americans win their first-ever Olympic medal in Paris with a thrilling 14-12 victory over Australia in the bronze medal match that saw Alex Sedrick run the length of the field to score as time expired.
