TRAFFIC ALERT: Tractor-trailer overturns on US 17 in Shallotte

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — The Shallotte Police Department responded to the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer accident.

According to a post on the Shallotte Police Department Facebook page, the incident occurred on US 17 just before 9 a.m.

A tractor-trailer overturned at the intersection of US 17 at the northbound traffic light, near Hardees and Chick-fil-A.

There is no information yet on how the accident happened or if anyone was injured.

Shallotte Police are asking drivers to exercise caution in the area.
