BLOWN TIRE CAUSES FATAL CRASH ON HIGHWAY 36 NEAR SOMERVILLE – KWHI.com

DPS is investigating a fatal crash involving a semi that occurred Tuesday afternoon near Somerville.

The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 36 at FM 1948.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a 2007 Mack truck was traveling north on Highway 36 when a tire blew out, causing the vehicle to lose traction, travel off the road and overturn.

The driver, 55-year-old Dana Brock of College Station, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Brock was the only occupant of the truck, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
