Four people died on the spot and six others were seriously injured when a truck that was unexpectedly reversing collided with a taxi on the Kampala-Gulu Expressway in Luwero District early Monday morning.

The tragic incident occurred at around 5am in the village of Nakazzi, in the commune of Luwero, as confirmed by Savannah Regional Police spokesman Sam Twiineamazima.

The truck, which has not yet been identified, was coming from Kampala when it hit the driver of a Toyota Hiace taxi coming from Gulu.

Among the victims of the accident was 43-year-old Moses Kitata, a taxi driver and resident of Wobulenzi commune in Luwero district.
