Migrant boat spotted trying to cross English Channel day after 12 people died

WIMEREUX, France (AP) — Just one day after 12 migrants died on Wednesday, another attempt to cross the English Channel set off from northern France, carrying dozens of people, apparently heading towards Britain.

Associated Press journalists on the beach at Wimereux, on the northern coast of France, not far from where the ship sank on Tuesday, broadcast live footage of a rubber boat carrying people, apparently migrants, out to sea.
