Man returns to Kerala from US, dies in road accident on way home

The accident occurred around 6.30 am near Mukkala in Vadakara when Shijil, 40, was returning home in a taxi after landing at the Karipur airport, said a police officer from Chombala station. The taxi driver, Jubi (38), who also hails from Thalassery, also died in the accident.

According to CCTV footage that appeared on television, the taxi collided head-on with an oncoming truck. Police said the truck driver had not yet turned up at the station as he had been told.
