Shooting at Smyrna home over Labor Day weekend puts neighbors on alert

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WSMV) – People say they moved to this neighborhood because it’s quiet and peaceful – but that wasn’t the case Saturday morning.

Multiple Smyrna neighbors reported hearing about 10 shots around 2 a.m. Saturday, leaving the house riddled with bullet holes. No one was injured.

“It’s very quiet, very private and very family-like,” Reynolds Carreras said.

Residents in the 5200 block of Endurance Lane woke up Saturday morning to police searching the area for evidence.

“I was sleeping then until they woke me up,” said a resident of the house that was shot at.

The person living in the house wanted to remain anonymous. They say no one was hurt, but the family was shaken.

“They attacked the car and the wall of the house where I was sleeping,” they said.

The side where this person is sleeping had four bullet holes in the facade of the house. One bullet even went through their bedroom window.

“I didn’t think much of it, but it was shocking when I woke up,” they said. “I just saw a bullet hole in my wall.”

In addition, when the family checked their cars, they found five bullet holes and a flat tire. Multiple neighbors say police have collected surveillance footage that could show the suspect or suspects involved.

WSVM4 reached out to the city for a description of the incident, but all they could confirm was that a shooting occurred.

“Now I am more aware of my surroundings, I have no idea what was going on or what happened, but I have to pay more attention,” Carreras added.
