Family dispute leaves man dead Labor Day weekend in Phoenix

Phoenix police are investigating a family dispute that occurred Sunday that ended in death.

Officers responded to a call of a shooting around 12:10 a.m. Sept. 1 near the 2400 block of West Voltaire Avenue, where they found Darius Anthony Rain, 28, with a gunshot wound to the head. He died at the hospital.

According to a news release from Phoenix police, the suspect surrendered, was taken into custody and told officers he shot the victim.

Police said the charges will be forwarded to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review.
