August 19th

Shoplifting: At 1:06 p.m., a 44-year-old Philadelphia woman was arrested after security at a Target store in Springfield Mall reported she had stolen three pairs of shoes. Security also said she had been involved in at least three previous thefts over the past three months.

August 20

Shoplifting: At 6:08 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft of personal care products by a man who fled on foot at CVS in the 300 block of Baltimore Pike. Officers spotted the man on Bishop Avenue, and he fled into Crowell Park and was taken into custody. The 20-year-old from Drexel Hill will be charged with shoplifting.

August 21

Shoplifting: At 12:27 p.m., officers responded to the Target store in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike and detained a 19-year-old Drexel Hill man after security reported he had stolen more than $100 worth of clothing and contraceptives.

August 22nd

Assault: Police are investigating an incident that occurred just after 7pm when a Clifton Heights man was attacked by a group of juveniles in Williams Park and his bicycle was damaged.

August 23

Theft: While on patrol, Officer Bierling received information that a vehicle entering Springfield on State Road had a stolen license plate. The vehicle turned around on Rolling Road and entered a business parking lot when two occupants got out and fled upon seeing police. One of the occupants was taken into custody. It was determined that the license plate had been reported stolen out of Philadelphia and the vehicle had been stolen out of Marple. A 15-year-old male from Philadelphia was released to family and will be charged with handling stolen goods.

Shoplifting: At 3:44 p.m., Target security at Springfield Mall reported two individuals had stolen cosmetics and left the area in a vehicle. Officers arrived and located the vehicle on Chester Road in Swarthmore and took a 23-year-old man from Chester and a 22-year-old woman from Perkintown, N.J. Both will face charges.

Thefts: At 10:52 a.m., officers were called to the 100 block of Saxer Avenue in reference to a report of a suspicious male in the driveway of a property. It was later determined that the male had entered an unlocked vehicle and was searching the interior. While checking the area, officers located a male and female in the 100 block of South Rolling Road and detained them. Both were found in possession of drug paraphernalia and a large quantity of coins, which were identified as the coins from the driveway. Further investigation into the male, Antonio Bradford, 58, Philadelphia, revealed that he was a suspect in numerous thefts from vehicles in Springfield over the past few weeks. He was found to have multiple outstanding warrants from Delaware and Montgomery counties. He was charged with theft and drug offenses and transported to the Delaware County Jail. Charges for other thefts are pending. The female, 31, Philadelphia, was released due to health issues and will be charged with theft and drug offenses.

August 24

Vehicle theft: At 4 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Reese Road reported a vehicle stolen from her driveway. Police spotted the vehicle traveling south on Woodland Avenue at a high rate of speed and lost sight of it as it entered Ridley Township.

Vehicle entered: A resident in the 200 block of South Highland Avenue reported that someone broke into an unlocked vehicle in his driveway and stole a small amount of cash.

Shoplifting: At 7:07 p.m., officers responded to a CVS in the 300 block of Baltimore Pike for a report that a woman had stolen over $700 worth of lotion products and left. The woman was located nearby and taken into custody. She required medical attention and was released for treatment. Charges for theft by retail will be filed.
