Truck carrying chemicals crashes while en route to Punjab, one person injured

Thane (Maharashtra) (India), September 3 (ANI): A truck loaded with chemicals overturned on Ghodbunder road in Thane while travelling from Navi Mumbai to Punjab, injuring one person and causing traffic disruption in the area, police officials said on Tuesday.

A truck carrying a chemical called aqueous ammonia overturned on Godhbunder Road in Thane while transporting the chemical across states from Mumbai to Punjab.

Officials confirmed the road had to be closed due to the accident. Officers arrived at the scene to assess the incident.

According to police officers, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle and was injured as a result.

According to reports, the chemical present in the vehicle was spilled due to the truck overturning. Police have reported the accident and the leak to the relevant chemical company.

According to officers, the driver was rescued from the scene of the accident.

Two Hydra vehicles were used to tip the container over onto the side of the road and authorities neutralised the chemical so that traffic could be restored.

Earlier on September 2, three people sustained injuries in another accident in Gavanpada area of ​​Chembur in Mumbai. According to police, the accident took place on Sunday at 2 pm. The cause of the accident was rash driving. The deceased have been identified as Pramod Shankar Prasad (25), Harichandan Dillip Das (23) and Hussain Sheikh (40). The injured passengers have been identified as Javed Saifula Khan (30), Manoj Mani (30) and Sanjay Sukhar Singh (39). They were admitted to a nearby hospital and undergoing treatment, officials said.

In Mumbai’s Aarey Colony, three people lost their lives when their motorcycle collided with a pole near Munda Chowk, the Mumbai Police said on Sunday. (ANI)
