Operation Bhediya: 5-year-old girl injured in another wolf attack in Bahrain; Search for ‘killer’ wolves continues

This Uttar Pradesh Police and Forest department continue searching for two Deadly Wolves under ‘Operation Bhediya‘ IN Bahrain district. The forest department had earlier captured four wolves. The wolf pack is said to be behind several attacks on villagers in the region.

Meanwhile, late Monday evening, a five-year-old girl was injured in another alleged accident. wolf attack in the same area. The girl was sent to the Community Health Centre Mahasi, where she is undergoing treatment.

The girl was sleeping next to her grandmother in her home when a wolf suddenly attacked her. However, the quick reaction of her family members and neighbors saved her life.

Kalim, one of the girl’s neighbors, said that as soon as they heard the family’s cries, they immediately rushed to help and ran after the wolf, but the wolf managed to escape from the village. He also said that it was the first time the wolf had come to their village.

Speaking to ANI, one of the neighbours, Kalim, said, “They were shouting at night and we came to know that the wolf was trying to catch the child. We all helped them save the girl from the wolf attack. Then, after the incident, the administration and the forest department also reached the spot. We chased it (wolf) but it ran away to the fields on the eastern side. This was the first time a wolf had come to our village.”

Her relative, Wasi Ahmad, said: “After dinner, she went to sleep, along with my mother. At that time, a wolf came and attacked her. When we shouted, it ran away. There is no gate in the house.”

Her grandmother told ANI that the girl was sleeping next to her at home when suddenly a wolf attacked her during the night.

“She was sleeping next to me and her father. At midnight she suddenly screamed and we tried to save her. We don’t have doors in our house.”

Her mother Ruby said, “I was sleeping at home and she was sleeping outside with her grandmother. Suddenly she started screaming because the wolf had grabbed her. After we all screamed, the neighbors came and the wolf ran away from the village.”

Meanwhile, ADG Zone Gorakhpur Dr KS Pratap Kumar on wolf attacks said, “As part of a specialized strategy, the Forest Department is implementing a programme in which the Police Department is also cooperating. The entire area has been divided into 7 teams. Each gram panchayat is also being given a police team. We will definitely achieve success soon.”

On Monday, a three-year-old girl was killed and two other women were injured in another wolf attack, enraging residents who accused the administration of negligence.

The director of Mahasi Civil Health Centre said: “A three-year-old girl was killed and two other women were injured in a wolf attack late in the evening.”

DFO Bahraich, Ajit Pratap Singh is currently on site and is conducting operations search operation to the village of Thalia to catch a wolf.

The mother of the deceased child told ANI that the incident took place at 3:35 am on Monday.

“The incident happened at 3:35 a.m. When my 6-month-old daughter got up in the middle of the night, I saw that she was gone. Both of my child’s hands were bitten by the wolf. We work as laborers all day and raise children. We ran after it but it ran away. We are poor, so we are not able to install doors in the house,” she said.
