A man was killed Monday morning in a crash on State Road 507 in Thurston County.

Authorities said a 38-year-old Lacey man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 507 near the town of Tenino.

According to Washington State Police, a man was driving a Honda Civic south on the highway when it ran off the roadway to the left and struck an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado.

“Both vehicles went off the road and onto an embankment,” WSP said in the memo. “(The Civic) overturned onto its roof.”

The crash, in which both vehicles were totaled, was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. between Tenino and the unincorporated community of McIntosh, southwest of Yelm. No other injuries were reported.

The identity of the victim, who was wearing a seat belt, was not immediately released by WSP until his next of kin were notified.

The agency said it was not known whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
