Prepare for severe storms in Central Oregon Monday afternoon

At 3:02 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service issued a report of severe thunderstorms possible in Central Oregon until 3:30 p.m.

Residents could be exposed to wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

“As of 3 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a severe thunderstorm near Redmond, moving north at 25 mph,” the weather service said. “Gusting winds could down trees and throw debris around unsecured structures.”
