Mayfield Heights police arrest man for third and fourth time in six days

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — On Aug. 23, officers responded to the May SOM Laundromat on Mayfield Road in response to a report of a man sleeping inside the business, which was scheduled to be closed for the day.

Officers found a 53-year-old man with an open and empty can of beer and arrested him for drinking in a public place after he said he had no one to call to pick him up.

After the man was released from jail the next day, he went to Sheetz and was arrested again after stealing beer and pre-packaged sandwiches, which he began eating outside the store. Officers noted that he was offered breakfast before he left jail.
