Woman dies after crash on Highway 49 in Stone County

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) – A woman was killed in a crash Saturday on Highway 49 in Stone County.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), 34-year-old Jamie Lynn Sullivan of Brandon, Mississippi, died in the crash.

At approximately 4 p.m., a 2007 Toyota 4Runner driven by another woman, also from Brandon, was traveling north on U.S. 49 when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Sullivan was a passenger in the vehicle.

Both Sullivan and the driver were taken to a local hospital.

Sullivan later died from her injuries.

The cause of the disaster is being investigated by MHP.
