68-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by a vehicle

LYNCHBURG, Virginia. – The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating after a man was struck and killed by a vehicle.

Authorities said the incident occurred just after 10 p.m. Sunday on Campbell Avenue and ended in the death of a 68-year-old pedestrian.

Lynchburg police said the man was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The police department said it was actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
