Prepare for severe storms across northeastern Oregon early Monday morning

At 4:33 a.m. Monday, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning that was expected to last until 5 a.m. for the Lower Columbia Basin in Oregon, the northern Blue Mountains in Oregon, the southern Blue Mountains in Oregon, the foothills of the northern Blue Mountains in Oregon and the foothills of the southern Blue Mountains in Oregon.

Residents could be exposed to wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

“At 4:32 a.m., Doppler radar was tracking severe thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles northeast of Lexington to 8 miles northwest of Lehman Hot Springs. It was moving northeast at 35 miles per hour,” the weather service said. “Gusting winds could down trees and throw debris around unsecured objects.”
